IMG had the requirement to structure and handle a large amount of media rich files. Sitecore’s Media Library no longer met their requirements and therefore a dedicated Digital Asset Management system was required. The choice fell on DigiZuite, which is produced by a Danish company called DigiEyeZ.
The task was therefore to integrate DigiZuite with Sitecore so Sitecore users could simply choose media assets from DigiZuite for use on the pilot website www.opengolf.com, developed in Sitecore by IMG.
Pentia were responsible for project management of the delivery. PRINCE2TM was used as the project method to ensure a common expectation of the final product.
DigiEyeZ developed a simple user interface for the frontend of their DigiZuite solution, which was named the Selector.
Pentia developed an extension to the rich text editor, so that with a click on the special DigiZuite button, the Selector would open and from here one can make a simple search or advanced search via metadata. One can see previews of assets and choose the size and quality, dependant on whether it is an image or a film clip. By choosing a film in the Selector, it is inserted in Sitecore’s rich text editor.
In the same way there was developed an image field where images can be inserted on the page.
