The Municipality of Copenhagen’s employment and Integration department wanted to launch a campaign site that presents diversity in the city and get more “Copenhageners” to feel accepted as equal citizens.
The main requirement of the site was that it should be inviting, colorful and could easily distribute information about events that the users can create themselves on the site.
The site is a cooperation between the Municipality of Copenhagen that had the vision, MAKE which delivered the graphical design and Pentia that ensured the implementation of the solution in Sitecore, as well as project management. The site is centered on a calendar, where the user can find all different types of events.
By choosing a month in the calendar, all events for that month are displayed. Locations of the events are shown on a Google Map, to the right and by clicking on it the event is shown in detail. The user can scroll up and down the page to see the details.
There are also features such as a dynamic list over the 10 most read events and the possibility to search via event type.
The user can send information about their own events to the Municipality, by completing an online form. Following this the Sitecore Administrator can edit the uploaded event as required and publish them on the website.
As the project was to be used for a campaign with a fixed deadline, it meant that there was only 20 days from project start to public launch. The project was delivered before the deadline.
