Oticon operates at the highest level of Danish industry. Most Danes know Oticon, and most Danes know that Oticon produces hearing aids. What many probably do not know is that Oticon doesn’t "just" produce hearing aids - they produce probably the most advanced, sophisticated and not least the most intelligent digital hearing aids in the world!
Pentia had the pleasure to start working with Oticon back in November 2009. Prior to this Oticon went through a process where a new web platform should be selected as well as a new development and implementation partner. Furthermore, there was a requirement for a new Digital Asset Management system in addition to a new system for handling cross-media publishing. They chose Pentia and Sitecore.
The new oticon.com is therefore based on the latest version of Sitecore CMS, with a Pentia Basis Site as the foundation. The website is tightly integrated with DigiZuite DAM, that among other things handles the video component, which constitutes a large part of the communication on the site.
During the project there was an ongoing need to alter specifications and priorities. Scrum was chosen as the project method and through its ability to adapt, it has proved ideal for Oticon.
